We have a new pastor!
Father Ray Zielezienski will become the Third Pastor in the history of St. Joan of Arc. We are delighted! Fr. Fred stated "I believe this will be a wonderful next chapter for St. Joan's and I am very pleased with the decision."

Our pastor and shepherd, Fr. Fred Riccio, will be leaving us in August. We have been blessed with his leadership and gifts for 14 wonderful years. Even though we are saddened by his leaving we wish him joy in his new parish, St Joseph's in Alameda.

Prayer for our Parish in Transition

Oh faithful God,
As your people, we cherish our memories and our history as a sacred gift.
We also ask you to guide us in our time of transition.

We need your wisdom that we might be receptive to change, conversion, and growth.
We need your grace to redirect our hearts that we may be willing to offer ourselves in joyful service.
Do not allow fear, ignorance, or pride to limit the work of your spirit, nor custom to prevent the creativity within us from bearing fruit.
Open our hearts to the call of the Gospel.
Give us courage and renewed hope that we may meet the challenge of being the church of our time.

Pastoral Transition Team

A team of staff and parishioners selected by Fr. Fred from across the parish community, has been formed to develop and implement an effective plan of transition for the parish community as pastoral leadership moves from Fr. Fred to a new leader. The team is responsible for organizing activities that

  • Celebrate and give thanks for the ministry of Fr. Fred
  • Keep communication open between the Diocese and our Parish
  • Welcome and orient the incoming Pastoral Leader
"I wish to thank each of you for your time and energy, and the wisdom you have shared in this Transition Process. You have done a wonderful job in gathering the information and concerns of the parishioners and presenting these to the Parish Leadership Placement Board"
