Goals 1. To create a positive experience of the Catholic Church for early adolescents. 2. To assist 7th and 8th graders in gaining an understanding and appreciation of what the Catholic Church teachers and believes. 3. To incorporate the Catholic Church's vision of social justice and peace into the spiritual life of pre-adolescents. 4. To develop an understanding in middle school youth that they are a vital and visual presence within the parish community. |

EDGE
Meetings |
EDGE Nights occur every week on Thursday from 7-8:30pm in the Parish Gym. With a Kick Off night in September. | ||

Typical EDGE Night We conclude by coming back together as a large group for closing and send off. The small groups are by grade level and stay together for the whole year. We have 2 or 3 Core Team members per small group and no more than 10 kids to a small group. Core Team members consist of adults and high school students. |

Typical Month |
In a typical month's period at the EDGE we will have two catechetical theme nights, one issue night and one social night. Last year we covered "The Beatitudes" and "The Sacraments" and "The Liturgy". Issue nights are nights where current issues that are relevant to this age group are discussed: peer pressure, gossip, stress, self image, friendships, etc.. Social nights are designed to build our EDGE community! We may have a game night, team building night, movie night, disco bingo, "Christmas Celebration" and "End of the year Celebration" to name a few. | ||

Service Projects |
Service projects are a big component of the EDGE. We would like each small group to complete a service project on their own each semester. We also incorporate large group service projects throughout the year.
