The reality of refugees and migrants has never been more present in the world. There are over 68 million forcibly displaced people in the world today, and Pope Francis has been a tireless spokesperson for their dignity and needs.
Our January GIFT session, Refugees, the Church and our Response: the JRS Story will be led by Fr. Thomas Smolich, S.J., the International Director of the Jesuit Refugee Service. We will reflect on the reality of forced migration, the Church’s historic and current response, and JRS’ engagement of refugees in 53 countries around the world.
