Every night in Contra Costa County, there are approximately 1,000 unhoused children seeking shelter. Within the first 48 hours of being on the street, a homeless child is approached by a trafficker. Join us to learn about the fundamental issues that create and perpetuate Commercial Sexual Exploitation/Human Trafficking in the greater Bay Area. We will provide a working knowledge of the issue and offer answers to your burning questions.

Joy Thompson is the Program Manager for Day Star Mentoring & CSEC Education and has been committed to youth development for the last 15 years. She is dedicated to spreading awareness about child sex trafficking, and helping to reduce demand.

 

Leah Kimble-Price, MFT is Director of CSEC Services and has been working with children who are victims of exploitation for more than 12 years.  Her expertise and research focus on the experiences of marginalized and abused children  and communities that seek to embrace them after trauma.
