*Pastoral Council News...
Perhaps you have seen the phrase, "To be Christ for Others as Christ is for Us." appearing on the church bulletin boards or elsewhere recently. At its annual retreat in August, the Pastoral Council developed this much simpler phrase to state the Mission of our St. Joan of Arc Parish. The Council further defined four Focus Areas in which the spirit of this Mission Statement could be fulfilled. The Focus Areas are: Prayer (worship), Sharing (social ministries), Teaching (educational formation), and Hospitality (gathering). Short and long term goals for each of the Focus Areas have been established. The Council has reviewed the purpose of all the various ministries of our parish and it has associated each of them with one of the Focus Areas. members of the Pastoral Council will soon be working with each of the ministries to explain the Mission Statement and its goals and to see how their ministry may help.
