| Altar Care |
Members rotate at two week intervals and are responsible
for collecting linens and vestments, laundering, and returning them
to the church in preparation for the weekend Masses. New members are
welcome and receive individual instruction upon joining the ministry.

| Altar Servers |
Boys and girls who are at least 9 years old or in the 4th grade
are welcome to attend a training class to learn how to become an altar
server. Class dates and times are announced in the bulletin. |
| Children's Choir/Liturgy |
The "re-choir-ments" for Children's Choir is that you
be in 2nd to 8th grade; can commit to weekly one-hour practices on
Wednesdays, 5:45 to 6:45pm, September through May, and can commit
to scheduled weekend liturgies. |
| Choir/Music Ministry |
The choir meets every Wednesday at 7:30 pm in the church to rehearse
and learn new songs. The choir practices as one unit, but members
sing at either the 9:00 to 10:30 am Masses. Fellowship is an important
ingredient to the choir as they share social events and remember one
another in their prayers. If interested, stop by after Mass and speak
to the director, or come to one of the practices. Vocalists and instrumentalists
are encouraged to join. |
Children's Liturgy
of the Word |
This program involves the celebration of the Sunday
Mass readings in a manner appropriate for children. After the opening
prayers, children are escorted to the parish center classrooms by
age groups. Following their Celebration of the Word, they are escorted
back to church during the Offertory. The program is offered at the
5:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, and 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Masses on Sunday.
Children from Kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to participate. |
| Environment Committee |
This group is responsible for creating an appropriate setting in
which prayer and worship may take place. While the work of the committee
is most noticeable during the major seasons of the Church Year, the
committee functions year-round. Interested individuals may call the
parish office or sign up on the annual Ministry Sunday. |
| Eucharistic Ministers |
To become a minister of Communion you must be confirmed, be a registered
member of the parish for one year and in good standing with the Church.
Watch the bulletin for periodic sign-ups. New ministers are always
welcome, must attend a training session and may choose the Mass time
that is most convenient for them. |
| Hospital Ministry |
A dedicated group of parishioners visit Catholic patients at San
Ramon Regional Center, covering every day of the year. Some visit
weekly, others less often, They minister to the patients and their
families, bringing the Eucharist, as well as praying for and with
them, and offering comfort and consolation during a difficult period
in their lives. Hospital visits are made daily. The staff at the hospital
is helpful and supportive, and patients are most appreciative. Interested
parishioners are given a short training before begriming this ministry. |
| Eucharist to the Sick |
One small, grace-filled avenue of giving that goes on in our parish
is the ministry of bringing Communion to the sick at home. Eucharistic
Ministers visit the homebound on a weekly basis at the convenience
of the recipient. The visit itself can be brief or extended, depending
on the need and available time. Each visit includes shared prayer,
a reading from Scripture and the reception of the Eucharist. To receive
Communion at home or to help in this ministry, please call the parish
office. |
| Lectors |
Lectors proclaim the Word of God at the weekend Masses and other
special liturgies. Sign-ups are taken each year at Ministry Sunday
(in the Spring) and spaces are filled as the need arises. |
| Liturgy Planning Team |
Members of the parish meet on the second Tuesday of each month to
work on the planning of the worship services of the parish. Meeting
dates are announced in the bulletin and attendance and membership
is open to all parishioners. |
| Ushers |
Ushers play an important role in creating a warm and hospitable
environment for worship. They help greet our parishioners and guests,
take up the collection and arrange for the presentation of the ministry.
Sign-ups are are taken yearly on Ministry Sunday (in the Spring) or
you can simply offer your services by speaking to one of the current
ushers. |
