The Oakland Diocese Office for Mission Advancement serves as a resource for parishes, schools, Diocesan agencies, ministries, and programs in the planning and implementation of stewardship, advancement programs and capital campaigns.

Below are the dates for the Oakland Diocese Office for Mission Advancement fundraising efforts, along with some of St. Joan of Arc’s special collections.  Please note the St. Vincent de Paul Special Offerings occur on the 5th Sunday of the month and take place after Communion.

Diocesan offerings should be placed in a separate envelope and included in the offertory basket.  You may use the special envelope you received with your Sunday envelopes, a yellow Parish Offering envelope found in the pew boxes or your own envelope with designation of where you would like your donation to go. You may also make donations electronically through the parish website Online Donations link.

TBD Missionary Cooperative Plan

Missionaries throughout the world come to our diocese to share the story of their missions and invite us to participate with our prayer and financial support. By responding to the pleas of missionaries, we can help those in need and better appreciate our own responsibility as missionaries. St. Joan of Arc will have someone from Missionaries of Faith, India speak to us. Please note that all donations will be pooled together and disbursed to all participating missions in equal shares.

July 1 Holy Father (Peter’s Pence)

The Peter’s Pence Collection enables the Holy Father to respond with emergency financial assistance to requests to aid the neediest throughout the world–those who suffer as a result of war, oppression, and natural disasters. It likewise provides the faithful with a tangible opportunity to not only empower the weak, defenseless, and voiceless, but also sustain those who suffer.

July 29 * St. Vincent de Paul  – 5th Sunday of the month. Collection after Communion.
September 9 Priest Retirement

The Priests Retirement Benefits Trust provides for retired clergy of the diocese. With more and more priests reaching the age of retirement, 75, and more retired priests living longer, the cost for this trust has increased dramatically, and will continue to do so.

September 30 * St. Vincent de Paul  – 5th Sunday of the month. Collection after Communion.
October 7 Catholic Voice

Parishes are accepting donations for the annual collection to support the publication of The Catholic Voice, El Heraldo Católico, the annual Diocesan Directory and affiliated websites. The money donated in each collection remains in each parish to offset the parish’s support for The Voice and affiliated operations. Make the checks payable to your parish.

October 21 World Mission Sunday and Home Mission Appeal

The World Mission Sunday and Home Mission Appeal collection (combines: Aid to the Church in Eastern Europe, Pastoral Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa, Black and Indian Missions, and Collection for the Church in Latin America). The Mission Sunday collection is always taken on the next to last Sunday during the month of October. That day is celebrated in all the local Churches as the feast of catholicity and universal solidarity so Christians the world over will recognize their common responsibility with regard to the evangelization of the world.
