St. Joan's 2010 Habitat for Humanity Plans
2010 Volunteer Build Days Announced

January, 2010 marks the beginning of the 8th year of St. Joan of Arc's participation as a "Covenant Congregation" in support for the East Bay Habitat for Humanity ministry. The Parish Charities committee has once again budgeted a substantial financial donation to support the Habitat mission of providing the opportunity for hardworking low income families to achieve their dreams of decent, affordable home ownership. Well over 100 St. Joan's parishioners have volunteered their time and efforts at various habitat home projects in Alameda and Contra costa counties which have produced over 70 new homes since we began participating. We continue to have groups of 8 to 20 volunteers consisting of a good mix of dedicated hard-core regulars as well as newcomers who join our monthly build days. These volunteers will participate in the construction of 35 homes that Habitat will complete this year in Alameda and Contra Costa County.
